Weld removal

Weld removal is a critical finishing step in metal fabrication, especially when working with stainless steel or aluminum. The goal is to eliminate weld seams while preserving the integrity and appearance of the surface, ideally without multiple passes or excessive heat buildup. That’s where our patented RCD discs come in.

Available grits:

• CO (P80) – Coarse

• ME (P120) – Medium

• VF (P150) – Very Fine

Key Benefits:

• Ideal for TIG weld removal on tubular surfaces

• Achieves a #4 satin finish in one step with the ME version

• VF version even offers pre-polishing capabilities

Usage tip: For best performance, use with a variable speed angle grinder set around 3,000 RPM.

Mirror finish

How to reach a to a high-end mirror-polished finish. Follow this four-step recipe:

1. RCD/CO/115 – Combi disc (P80 + coarse surface conditioning) for initial weld removal

2. XAG/5/115 – Unitized disc with ceramic grain (5AM) for aggressive deburring or as a first step on minor welds

3. SAG/5/115 – Unitized disc (2SF with silicon carbide) to refine the scratch pattern

4. VAP/Z/115 + PV102 – Felt disc and polishing paste for the final mirror shine

Brushed Finish

Prefer a classic brushed look? This trio delivers a consistent #4 satin in minutes.

1. RCD/CO/115 – For fast and clean TIG weld removal

2. XAG/5/115 – Aggressive ceramic unitized disc to blend RCD scratches

3. FMCW/80/12050 – Combi wheel (P80, 4-3/4” x 2” x 5/8-11) to create a uniform brushed finish

4. (optioneel) MHIT – Inox masking tape to create crisp, clean lines on external corners
